Socks that once use to be a boring subject is now one of the future 15 products in the world. It is now a fashion statement that gives your first impression on others.
There are different types of socks that depends upon the usage and need. You can choose from a verity of option depending upon your taste, requirements and preferences. Basically the type of socks depends on the length of the leg and obviously you can mix any quality (Yarn) with any type of socks. Here are some of the different types of socks.
No-show socks also known as loafer socks are the shortest and as their name suggest, these are socks that shouldn’t been seen. They usually stop at the level of the ankle so that they remain covered by the shoe. They can be used for running and to go the gym but not for activities where your ankle/leg might get hit.
Ankle socks are a bit higher, around 2.5 inches high, covering the ankle and being used in sports such as Cricket, basketball or even at gym. The ankle part of the socks is big enough to that it can feature some design or name of your brand.
Quarter socks are higher than ankle socks but lower than crew socks. They are not as popular as other models and are used for sports and everyday wear or with running and cycling.
Crew socks are around 10 inches high and are used by office going people in their meetings, social gatherings, public appearance with casual wear pants and suits. They are also often considered as workplace socks. Because they are quite high, they offer more than enough space to put some design or lettering. They also give you keep you warm in winters.
Knee-high socks are around 13 – 15 inches high, stopping right below the knee. They can be used for rough sports such as rugby and football but also to make a fashion statement, particularly among rock/punk/goth teenage girls. Please note that they are sometimes wrongly referred to as tube socks, which are a higher and rarer model.
